While driving through Virginia from Florida to Maryland on Saturday, August 25th, 2012, my windshield wipers stopped working on my 1998 Toyota. It was a terrible rainstorm, so we had to find a mechanic right away. Through the help of my daughter's smart phone and a BP gas station attendant, we were directed to Shawn A. Deyerie of Williams Auto Service, 401 Cowardin Ave. Richmond VA. (804)230-3051. After diagnostics he said it was the Bushing in the wiper transmission assembly, but that after calling all dealers in the area he could not get the part until Tuesday. Shawn even checked the computer radar for me to see if the rain was letting up so I could go on to Baltimore. He even put some “rainx” on the windshield to help me as much as possible. But the rain was very heavy and not worth the 2 1/2 hours to Baltimore that day. I explained that I had a vacation condo in Williamsburg I could go to since it was less than an hour away. He said he was from Williamsburg, used to run an auto shop there and his friend still did. Long story shorter, the friend was open but did not have the part, also until Tuesday. (Toyota delivers on the same day to all local shops) The friends name and place of business: Jason, Eagle Eye Autonmotive, 7211 Merrimac Trail, Williamsburg Va., (757)220-0186. On Shawn's sayso, Jason ordered the part for me, accepted Shawn's diagnostic so I wouldn't be charged twice, and installed it at Shawn's estimated price, later that week. I was very pleased with the outcome and especially of the service of these two gentlemen who went out of their way to assist me. Also while in the Richmond waiting room, I spoke to two other customers of Shawn's and they both were long-time customers who highly recommended him. If anyone requires car service they can rely on these two repair shops in that area.
