On Sunday, May 13, 2012, I went into the Walmart Tire & Lube to get a new bulb for my driver side headlight for my 2006 VW Passat. One of the techs broke my hood opener by pulling it out like a bottle cap instead of following the clockwise arrow clearly marked on the panel. He then apparently removed several parts from under my hood, and then passed the job onto an unsuspecting employee who tried to change the bulb. When I arrived back at the shop he was removing the frame from under my hood. I told him to stop and put it back on. No, car needs to have all those engine parts removed and part of the front frame to change a bulb. They insisted that they didn't do anything to the car. I held up three parts of my engine that had fallen off the car & I show them where they had removed a large bolt hold a part of the engine filter to the frame. The employee then admitted to the assistant manager Amber that another employee who left had started the work prior to him touching the car. I will keep you posted on how they correct their errors. I will be taking my car to the dealer today (May 14, 2012) to see how much damage was done to my car.
