I have dealt with Sternquist Garage for 20 plus years through 5 different vehicles. The labor rate is very reasonable and the staff is very professional. They ALWAYS call attention to any additional repairs that might be needed and give you a complete estimate prior to actually fixing them so that there are no suprises waiting for you with final bills. You will not find a more honest and reputable shop in Iowa.
STERNQUIST GARAGE DID A COMPLETE BRAKE JOB ON OUR SUBARU OUTBACK USED THE BEST QUALITY PARTS ON OUR CAR AND IT BRAKES BETTER THAN IT DID WHEN WE BOUGHT IT NEW .PLUS THEY CALLED US TO TELL US THE REAR WHEEL BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND COME TO FIND OUT THATS WAS THE RUBBLING SOUND IN THE BACK. VERY NICE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH.
THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST SOUNDS LIKE TO ME YOU WHERE JUST NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR LIFE.
To Kimberly Pagano, as reasonable as your review seems, I can only imagine you were treated in a manner befitting how you approached them. To prospective Sternquist customers, remember there are two sides to every story. This garage has been in business since 1920 and businesses don't stay in business that long by making enemies of their customers.
We took our vehicle in for $500 worth of work. Upon dropping the vehicle off, we asked if they could take a look at our brakes. They proceeded to do $1800 worth of brake work to our vehicle without notification. Then our car, and the personal property in the car, were held hostage until payment was received. The vehicle isn't even worth the amount of money our bill ended up being. When asked if they would just take off the new parts, and put the old ones back on, they said they did not feel "comfortable" doing that. Beyond doing slow work, and being expensive, I think they are scam artists.
