I went in to get my brakes checked at Sears in Washington, PA, and after checking things out, they gave me an estimate that was way too much. So, I refused the sale and they put my car back together and gave me the keys. As I started driving down the parking lot, my brakes were grinding louder than I had ever heard before (They weren't grinding whatsoever prior to going to Sears). I brought the car back to Sears to tell them about the grinding and they told me "that happens when parts are put back together on a car". So I went to the Midas in Washington, PA and they gave a much lower estimate but also added that something else needed to be fixed. They said the front right brake pad was put in backwards (they showed me) and that was causing the grinding noise which also caused the need for the rotor to be replaced (the front left rotor was fine). I told them I had just come from Sears and they had removed my brake pads earlier that day and put them back in after inspection. After Midas was done working on my car and fixing Sears' mistake, I went back to Sears to file a complaint about their service. I talked to the manager, Jeff, and he said there was no way that it could have been put in backwards. He talked on the phone with the guys at Midas but he still disagreed with them. He was very rude to me. I told him I did not appreciate the customer service at that Sears. He finally gave me a credit for the rotor part and then he left in a huff. What I am most upset about is the lack of respect and quality of customer service. I am not going back to Sears for any of my future automotive needs.
