We did replace the brake pads and brake rotors on your vehicle due to your request. The fuel pump was replaced due to inaccurate fuel readings and the window switch was replaced due to power window would not work. During this repair nothing in the engine compartment was touched. We then noticed your rear coil springs were broken and we replaced with OEM parts. These concerns were all fixed correctly. Your extended warranty company was billed for all repairs that were covered in your warranty contract. When you returned and stated the engine was stalling and overheating we cleaned the spark plugs and checked the cooling fans. We did find the fans to be working but the control module did not seem to be turning them on. We did not have the computer software to completely diagnose this concern and the control model was just a recommendation not a diagnosis. We advised that the vehicle should be taken to the dealership to have it diagnosed. We made you aware of this when you picked the vehicle up. Due to the fact we did not have the software to diagnose or program the replacement module, I recommended taking the vehicle to the dealer so you could have the best job performed for your money, since we were not able to complete the diagnosis or repair. You were not charged for the time we spent on this visit. I believe there was adequate time spend on your vehicle, almost a complete day. My ending conclusion was we were not able to diagnosis or repair this concern and a factory dealership would have to diagnosis the concern of the cooling fans. We take care in keeping our customer’s vehicle clean and keep a clean work environment. All vehicles that are serviced at Gerhart Auto Repair are treated as if they are our own vehicles.
