I had replaced the serpentine belt on my 1993 Pontiac a couple of times due to excessive wear. I decided there had to be a reason for the failure, so I took the car to Fruge's. They identified the problem as a worn AC compressor that was keeping the pulley from turning easily, and causing the belt to wear. I didn't have time to wait for them to get a compressor and install it that day, so they evacuated the AC system, removed the compressor, and replaced it with an idler pulley so that I could continue to use the car. A week later, I took the car back. They installed the compressor. charged the system and replaced the belt. I was ready to ride in cool comfort in about 4 hours. Thanks guys.
