Bought a 2005 F-150 FX4, when I purchased it the check engine light was on, I still agreed to purchase the vehicle because it was still in excellent shape. They pulled it into the garage, to which I'm almost positive they just reset the computer so the light goes out. Drove it home; then to get a haircut, when the check engine light came back on. I had my dad take it to the garage seeing as though I was leaving town. From this point the truck was in the garage for the next 7 days roughly; very limited communication, I was constantly trying to get a hold of someone to find out the status of the truck. Finally just went down one day and coincidently they were just finishing up. Took the truck home, still having the same issues I took it back to have them look and fix. Drove it to work then the following morning driving home, the issue got worse. Took it back to the garage so they can look at it again, was down there waiting for about 3 hours while they attempted to "fix" the issue again. When talking to the mechanic I asked what school he went to for the trade to which surprised me he told me he didn't go to school, he learned everything from the streets, which would explain why the truck was still having issues. Tried to take the truck home started having issue before I left the lot, so I left it at the lot so they can fix the issue yet again. A few days later they surprisingly called saying the truck was fixed. I went to pick it up and as I drove it home the issues were still there. They agreed to have the Ford dealer look at it, so I took it up there and Ford gave a list of items that needed to be replaced. A bill of over $2500 dollars that the dealer i bought the truck from wasn't going to pay. They asked what I, as the buyer, wanted to do. I asked if they were to buy the truck back how much of a loss I would take. He hit me with a loss of over $1500, which was outrageous seeing as though only 180 miles have been put on the truck(some me, some the dealer to test drive after the work was done) and it sat in the garages more than my driveway. Or the dealer suggested to have the garage fix it(meaning the garage I bought the truck from). At this point from past experience that option would have taken them probably about a month. So I countered with an offer with only taking a 750 dollar loss, in which he came back to a final offer which I accepted to end the night mare at this dealership. Then when everything was final they asked for an overnight mailing address to mail the check back to my bank, which took another 7 days to get to my bank. Why ask for an overnight address if you're not going to overnight it? Went back one last time to get my tag off the truck and asked what the plan was for it. The owner told me he was going to send it to a garage that deals with the Triton engines; all of a sudden they found a garage to look at it. Very disappointed with this dealer for numerous reasons. Will not recommend too anyone; if you can go somewhere else.
