We dropped my daughters car of because of leaking coolant, The owner inspected the vehicle and said it would require a water pump. He quoted us a price of $700, which I said WOW, He stated that would include everything, water pump, timing chain, thermostat, oil and filter, coolant and labor. A couple days later the mechanic called and said they would need $600 more to do the same job. He wanted to install a timing chain it. I explained that I already was told that the timing chain would be replaced. He also complained that the thermostat would take way more than the quote. I once again explained that it was in the original quote. He stated that the owner priced out the wrong engine. I explained that I was quoted a price for a complete job and didn't expect to pay for their mistake. I was lead to believe it would be taken care of. After picking the car up 3 days later, we were pleased to find it came as quoted and left a tip and went home. We had trust in them doing what was right and paid cash. The next day after hearing noise in the engine that wasn't there before, my daughter looked at the invoice, The garage did not do half the work that we expected them to do as quoted. They replaced the water pump only. No timing chain or thermostat as quoted. When I approached the owner, he stated that he did not have the car to get accurate info for parts. THE CAR SAT IN HIS GARAGE! He stated that if I went and bought the parts he would put them in. I already paid for the parts in the quote. I understand paying for something additional outside of a quote. The mechanic said a quote is just an estimate, they never know until they do the work. I expect to get at least what I was quoted for. Now we will find a real garage who stands behind their word and work.

I have found my auto repair home for my ford ranger and mazda 5 other than service that has to be done by the (mazda dealer) for my warranty on it. The first time I happen to stop in there on my way to Southport for air in my tire, they were just as nice as could be, I brought a ford ranger back by to be inspected only to find out I had been swindled when I bought it,they really worked with me on the ford ranger, helped me get it straighten out , they will be taking care of all my vehicles from now on. They are the most Honest , Friendliest, Caring and on Time auto repair business I have seen in a coons age. God Bless this Business the Owners and the Employees, they saved me.
