I can't rightly say what the hourly rate was for the simple reason that he gave me two quotes for replacing the engine based on the initial cost of two engines being found with different mileage. Naturally I chose the less expensive, higher mileage engine. Two days (and a lot of cussing, I'm sure) later, it was determined that the less expensive engine would not - in fact - work, so the more expensive one had to be called for. Despite the delay and going through (in effect) TWO installations, I was only charged the original price quoted for the engine that didn't fit. How would you calculate the hourly charge on labor?
