Worn Interior Upholstery

Most Ferrari models are known to have outstanding interiors. Even with little maintenance, their upholstery will hold up. However, as mileage increases, so do the chances of wear. Especially on old models, the seat bolster seams have the tendency to come apart. Likewise, dashboard upholstery has been known to warp and lift when they are exposed to extreme heat. These upholstery defects mostly occur on Ferrari Testarossas. Most Ferrari dealerships will gladly accommodate upholstery problems, even for old models. So take your car to the nearest manufacturer and have your vehicle reupholstered. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, consult a trusted mechanic to find a good upholstery specialist. You can find an auto repair shop here. To protect your vehicle from this type of damage, you should equip your car with high-quality seat covers.

For the dashboard, it is recommended that you regularly apply upholstery protectants. These products will give your dashboard increased resistance against UV rays and wear and tear.

Engine Cooling System Problems

Ferrari F40 Spiders that were manufactured from 2005 to 2007 have problems in their engine cooling systems. The hydraulic hoses, located on top of the engine compartment, are often exposed to extreme heat coming from the engine. This causes the hoses to have hairline cracks that can result in fuel leakage. Once this occurs, the vehicle will turn on the top warning light. If this is not fixed, the fuel will leak into the engine compartment, causing smoke and-potentially-engine fire. This will cause the vehicle to stall. If the damage is irreconcilable, then you need to replace your hydraulic hoses. Big leaks can no longer be blocked by sealing solutions, so replacing them is the only choice. Measure the leak by performing an ocular check on the hoses. Apply the sealing product and observe the hose as you step on the accelerator. If the leak is still there, then you will need to replace the hose. You need to buy a compatible unit, first. As a preventive measure, install heat shields for the new hydraulic hoses. These accessories will insulate the hoses and protect them from engine heat. You can install them simultaneously when you install your replacement hoses.

Corroded Fuel System Components

Old Ferrari models are equipped with aluminum fuel fittings. These components easily corrode against abrasive engine temperatures. Corroded fittings will result in leaks. Because they are located near the ignition source, they become a serious fire hazard. Corroded fittings are commonly found in Ferrari Mondials that were manufactured from 1989 to 1990. The fuel lines need to be replaced with aftermarket units that have anti-corrosive coating. To install a new fuel line, loosen rubber clamps first with a screw driver. Nylon and steel lines are equipped with ferrules on both ends, which can be dismantled with a wrench. Catch the fuel in the lines with a gasoline-safe container. Dispose this fuel properly. Replace the fuel line with a high-quality replacement. Caution: do not strip or cross-thread the fittings because it will cause leaks.
