why wont my car hold any gas, ill try to put some in and it will only take a little bit then spit the rest out.

it has alittle over 200,000 miles but it was alright till my friend put a new fuel pump in for me because i needed one and he put it on and a couple days later it started acting up like i was about to run out of gas, and dying out. when i start it now it wont run, it acts like it ran out of gas when i try to start it. everything was fine till i had my friend put new pump in?

1.Did the fuel filter was changed ? The filter might clog up .

2.Check the FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
1999 Buick Lesabre 3.8L SFI OHV 6cyl
The Fuel System Pressure

48-55 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)Position the ignition switch and the A/C system in the off position. Install a fuel pressure gauge to the vehicles fuel rail or fuel pressure test port.Confirm that no leaks are present, and visually verify the PSI reading on the gauge with the ignition in the on position.
