unsure about bleeding abs brakes properly

would the brake fluid reservoir cap with damage to rubber insert cause air to get into the system?

You get 1 to 2 % moisture in the braking system each year
- thru the brake reservoir cap,even with a good rubber seal

It is for that reason, you need to flush the fluid every 2 years,or you
end up with rusted caliper pistons & wheel cylinders or failed ABS
Module

You never remove the cap to check the fluid level-you look thru the tank

The ABS has little to do with Bleeding the Systems,at least on your OBD1 Vehicle

Just have two people & the motor running,so the brake pedal moves freely
