1997 Ford F-150 XLT 8 Cyl 4.6L - Engine
my truck over heated and blowed out a head gasket
the motor has 162,000 miles on it i already did the quick fix and sealed it up. Its working the truck runs but it misses kinda when its cold and i had to by pass the heater core. i use the truck for work and to pull a boat would it be better to rebuild the motor or replace it or put new heads on. i doent want to sell it im not rich but i do want it to last.

    Tim overheating the motor could lead to more serious motor damage. Since the head gasket is blown have the head gaskets replaced and the heads resurfaced. You shouldn't have to rebuild replace the motor unless there is internal engine damage. But you should have the head gaskets done if you don't want to have to buy a motor.
