1990 Dodge B350 Base 8 Cyl 5.90L

Transmissions & Drivetrains

switching a tranny. Old1996, New1990.. Now have heavy lag...

i switched a 96 403 trans into a 90. Worked b4, now as a test, in now the 1990-van, it lags. I converted the speedo module, the other two module plugs fit. One is a three-pin round, the other a two-wire like-a-molex. Anybody know anything about this "delemon". Is it possible that three-pin is upside down?? Ironically ONE flywheel hole-to-converter DID NOT Line-up.. but 3-DID... That was very unique. YES, i did try spinning the converter in all 4 combonation.. Can any one help this fool? (..although, sometimes being a fool can be fun... lol.. CRZ
96 was 3500, reg length, the 90 is extended 3500, same general casing, but the 96 has that 2wire sensor at crossmember, the other was slightly diff, but same fitting-plug. Also i have no clue what ST LB rwd means. Mine-both were RWD, only

The automatic transmission 1990 model will only interchange directly for years 1990-1993 (trans code A518).

The later 1996 model transmission (trans codes 46RE and RH) will interchange to only 1995-1997 model years.
