2002 Volkswagen Passat GLS 6 Cyl 2.8L

Steering & Suspension

WHY DOES MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKE? IT VIBRATES AT LOW SPEEDS AND GETS WORSE AS I ACCELERATE

I DID NOT RUN OVER ANYTHING. IT STARTED ABOUT A WEEK AGO, AND ONLY DID THE SHAKING AT 60MPH. IT GRADUALLY GOT WORSE, TO WHERE IT SHAKES ALL THE TIME.

Unbalanced tires will likely the cause of this problem. Rotate the tires and see if that will solve the issue.

YOU MAY HAVE A SHIFTED BELT IN ONE OF THE FRONT TIRES. EXAMINE TIRES AND LOOK FOR ANY SHIFT IN THE TREAD PATTERN. JACK-UP CAR SPIN TIRES TO INSPECT
