The smoke could be Engine Coolant Leaking & drying on the motor when hot.
If the smell is oily,I would hope you examined the outside of the engine, steering,
& trans for leaks.
If you have a Check Light coming on,why are you using the vehicles or have you
check it for codes & done nothing to diagnose & resolve ?

Many possibilities; coolant leak, engine oil leak, brake or transmission fluid leak - to list only a few.

Recommend as a first step; to clean the engine off - do this with the engine cold, then put a small amount of oil-soluable leak detect into the engine oil - to help determine the leak source.

Try these on-line parts resources; www.autopartsanything.com; www.partsgeek.com; www.Rockauto.com, www.stockwiseauto.com - to list only a few.

In fact, they (RockAuto) list the replacement valve cover gasket (with grommets) from around $9.60 for your vehicle.

Valve cover gasket = FEL-PRO part #VS50458R - or it's equivalent
