2000 Dodge Durango SLT 8 Cyl 5.90L

What would cause it to shut off while driving?

Sometimes you can put it into neutral and it start right up and sometimes it has to sit a few minutes before cranking. Have listened to fuel pump and it is working. This happens at least once daily sometimes more if in town driving. Check engine light does not come on. All gauges zero out. In the trip gauge a code pops up No bus.

The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is bad. Probability is 99.9%. Well known pattern failure. New PCM has to be programmed using dealer level equipment. Example, if you buy a replacement PCM here> http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/.../A1790407V.html

The new PCM has to be programmed. I am not sure if the engine will run until the programming is done. The dealer will usually bill one hour of labor to program it.
