1980 Pontiac Bonneville Brougham 8 Cyl 4.90L

set timing an and get plugs in the right firing order

list did not go back far enough i have a 1968 pontiac bonneville original 400. timing is all screwed up plug wires are not right either engine pops and fire shoots out of the carburator. can anyone tell me how to fix my problems.

First step - remove all the spark plugs. Rotate the engine by hand until the #1 cylinder is at Top Dead Center TDC,
Next, loosen and rotate the distributor until the rotor points to the #1 spark plug terminal on the distributor cap.

Next, tighten the distributor, then trace the individual ignition wires to each of the cylinders - in the correct order. Replace the spark plugs in their original cylinder positions.
