2007 BMW 328i Base 6 Cyl 3.00L

Body & Interior

Secondary Hood Latch

Popped the hood, and it did bounce open like normal, but the pressure latch to pull it the rest of the way up seems like it's stuck in the up position. No movement. Not sure how to proceed.....I'm new to BMW's.....

There are a couple tricks you can try;

1) have a helper pound with a fist on the hood while you work the handle. the vibration from pounding can release the mechanism if it is jammed a bit

2) remove the trim and handle in the drivers foot well and use a pair of vice grips to get a good grip on the cable and yank that way

aside from this, you are looking at having to go in through the grills or under the hood to get to the latch
