Check for resistance in the wiring using an ohm meter to determine if there's a grounded wire. Loose wiring connection could serve this result. High accessory load consumption and alternator low voltage output is also an option to check.

VSS sensor might be dirty, loose or defective. Check and inspect its condition. Verify this using a diagnostic tool. You can visit any part shops that offer free scanning to retrieve any stored trouble codes and then post it here.

There’s something wrong with the electrical wiring. Perhaps there’s a wrong installation (wire grounded or open). The wiring should be examined using a voltage tester.

How do u fix the speedometer???
cant tell what speed im going..
    • HouseCallAuto

You have to diagnose it first. It is either a bad speedometer or a bad speed sensor and they have equal failure rates.

      1. Check the output voltage of the speed sensor. With the vehicle on a hoist spinning the wheels in drive approximately 2-3 volts should be present on a lab scope.

      2. Check the signal at pin 32 at the speedometer.

      3. Check powers and grounds to the speedometer.

      Potential Causes:
      Speed Sensor

Quite pricey: $345.90 - $465.90 from (Shipped) add around $200 for the labor, that's the average price range but since yours is an 08 model, i doubt you will find it easy to find one.

My odometer does not lite up anymore. Is this an easy fix and what should it cost to fix
    • justins1stchoice
      11/29/2010 justins1stchoice
it is possible to fix this, you have to remove the gauge cluster. when you get it out you will see little black turn sockets that have no wires on them, those are your lights, twist them counter clockwise and pull them out, if they do not look burnt out then you may have a power/ground issue. removing the cluster can be time consuming, and tricky depending on your model, lots of screws and on some vehicles you have to remember which screw went in which hole, as some screws are longer than others. but someone with any kind of mechanical knowledge should be able to do this.

You likely have a broken ground wire inside the rubber boot where the window wiring goes out from the door by the door hinges.

      1. At the master window switch 8 terminal connector (C504a) check for a good ground on pin 2 Black (BK) wire. If the wire is not a good ground, repair as needed and recheck operation.

      2. If the ground is OK, verify the LB/BK wire maintains battery voltage when trying to operate the power windows.

      3. If there is battery voltage on the LB/BK wire when loading the circuit, check for battery voltage and ground between pin 7 Tan/Light Blue (TN/LB) and pin 8 White/Black (WH/BK) wire of C504a when commanding the driver's window down or up. If power and ground are not present between the wires but the power and ground to the switch are OK, suspect a faulty master window switch.

Where is fuse box located, drivers power seat doesn't work, passenger does
    • HouseCallAuto
      11/10/2010 HouseCallAuto
If the passenger side seat works then the fuse is good. The same fuse serves both seats. You may have a bad switch, a broken black ground wire off the switch. I do not think bad motors because the seat has 3 separate motors and they cannot all fail at once. verify that the BLACK / WHITE wire coming into the switch has 12 volts at all times or with the key on. verify that the BLACK wire coming off the switch is a good ground.
