They likely meant the word sludge, not slug. It means the engine can't breathe because sludge buildup may be blocking certain ports for the PCV system. This shouldn't be for you to decide, someone has to take some detailed interest and inform you what needs to be done from a mechanic's perspective, preferably a mercedes benz guy that knows the product. MB cars are sort of in their own class when it comes to service procedures. Getting rid of sludge is generally not a DIY project and in many cases the engine needs to be replaced if the sludge is bad enough. Sludge forms from oil changes that are not performed often enough. It does not take but one or two times when a person goes a year or more without an oil change. Kind of like leaving a pot on the stove burner with food in it and forgetting about it. there are times when you just can't get the pot clean again and you throw it away.

There is a couple of things that can cause it. First, check fuel pressure, if too high , could be the
pressure regulator. Did you scan your computer for any codes? Any major parts store will check
it for codes for free. Let me know.

Could be a slow leak in the cooling system. Have the cooling system pressure tested
      to find the leak.

The check engine light is located on the dash and stays on if the computerized engine control system detects an engine performance or emissions problem.
First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance. There may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light

Need to pin point the # 4 plug #5 pin in the ECM to correct a short
Im having ny ecm rebuilt and he found that on the ecm the #4 plug #5 pin was the problem, I need help in pin pointing the wire and its use,,thanks, Don

The #4 cylinder and #5 pin is a wire that runs from pin 5 of the engine control module to pin 3 of the ignition coil for the #4 cylinder. If this is what was failed within the ecm then replace the ignition coil for cylinder #4 and confirm that this blue white wire is not shorted to ground anywhere alomng the run form the ecm to the coil and if it is too difficult to follow the full length of the wire to see it then run a new wire and splice it a few inches away from the ecm and a few inches away from the coil. Done.

I didnt explainmyself very well, im speaking of the ECM #4 SOCKET and the #5 pin in the socket, ita a brown wire i think goes to the 02 sensors. Sorry about the confusion

Ok I see a brown wire that runs from the #5 ecu pin and goes to both DOWNSTREAM O2 sensors. Probable cause of ecu failure is a shorted out O2 sensor heater. That means replace both rear O2 sensors and confirm that this brown wire is not shorted to any other wires. O2 sensor is the more likely cause.
