How to install front license plate on 2001 mercedes benz CL55AMG
    • Nissan Technical Advisor
Hi fireh2o44, a universal license plate holder is a big help. It can hold any size of license plate and it includes installation instruction. But if you want without it, you will be needing a pencil, a screwdriver, 2 screw bolts, a measuring tool and a drill. Just measure the distance of the 2 holes in the in-front of the bumper, which are reserved for license plate, make some measuring on your plate for the drilling point. Recheck and make a hole, then attach it, and your done. Fixing that will take you 5-10 minutes only.

Like to know how to remove passenger side right front inside door panel to replace window motor

I can’t find a how to guide for your vehicle, you can post a thread or find an article about your query on the Mercedes Benz forum. Be careful when you remove your door panel because there are side air bags in this model.

Why won't my window go up?
I pulled the window motor out and the motor will turn to put the window down, but it will not go up. I got another motor and it does the same thing. Is it a switch problem or a wiring problem?

If it worked to go down but wont come back up, before assuming it is a (expensive) window motor, try checking the switch/es.

Think about it, if it worked going down but not back up, the motor was working when current was going in one direction, it should work if you reverse the current.

In some cases a swift hit to the door will free a stuck or dragging motor. But before assuming it is a motor, check the switch.

Why do i get a high pitched noise from my car while it is running?

Have you had your belts checked/replaced recently? They could be worn, too loose, or too tight. Any of those conditions would cause a high pitched noise while the engine is running. If you're at or over 80,000 miles (and have never done so) than you need to replace your timing belt, serpentine belt, and water pump very soon regardless of whether or not it solves the problem. The only other thing that comes to mind is a hung up caliper which would only squeal while the car is moving.

There are 6 screws to loosen on your glove box, but if you just find 4 and the 2 screw around the latch is missing its ok it is usually like that, yank out firmly and remove your glove box light wire from the light.

A leak in your HVAC vacuum or line can cause it. You should take your vehicle to a certified a/c technician to further check your HVAC system. You can use the find a shop feature of AutoMD to see the list of shop near you and compare their labor rate per hour.

      9/8/2010 erik b
No not the seat belt. Its on the hood. The release strap that pulls out on the grill in the front of the car after you pull the handle under the steering wheel. Its black and I was just wondering if there was a picture somewhere that I can see haw this piece that I bought goes back..

i see what you are trying to do know, this type of repair there usually isn't any type of pictures in the manual. but I will bet that the grille needs to be removed inorder to replace this part. Or alot of the time the cross bar where the hood latch is can be unbolted on each end and removed. make sure you mark the locations of the bolts so you can line it back up whn replacing it. Again like i said there won't be any type of a guide or picture showing how to repair this

What a bummer. This seems to be a very easy install. And I don't know about all that removing. I think I'll just go over to the local Mercedes dealer and play dumb and ask allot of questions and have a look see. I know its easy from the looks of it but, was just asking if there was something that would help me in my pursuit to making my wife happy for a mistake I made when messing with her baby.
Thank you very much for your time!!

No problem! I'm sure the dealer will show you especially if it is something simple.
