A/C is not blowing cool air - shop said sensor is broken and heat is working but not cold air -
He said we have to get new sensor which he said is 50.00 but the sensor is underneath the dash board and that it would be 6 hours of labor? Does this sound right?

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance.

This aspect is important; there may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.

Do not skip this important first step - there are literally hundreds of possible fault codes. Avoid wasting/ throwing money at the problem.

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this)
      Dirty air filter (change filter)
Dirty / clogged fuel filter (change filter)
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
      Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

      Dirty or worn spark plugs
      Bad plug wires
      Weak ignition coil
      Wet plug wires

There's no recall for your vehicle but there's 15 TSB's and 4 of therm is for your power train. Navigate this link
and just click the title of the TSB to see its summary.

You will notice that TSB online are just summary, if you want to obtain a full TSB report you can purpose it online or visit forums for your vehicle. All TSB's are submitted to NHTSA, as required by law, where they become a matter of public record and will also be provided to vehicle owners upon request.

I have read a lot about this & I'm in the same process of trying to figure it out also. I have a 2007 Lincoln MKX FWD with only 39000 miles on it that seems to be having some transmission problems. From what I have read it seems that there are some issues with the 6f50 transaxles that were built prior to 1/1/07.

Transmission is junk. If you get online you notice a million and one people claiming the same problems occur after using transmission repair fluids. I have personal experience with numerous vehicles while working at a used car lot for 8 years and not one single time have any type of repair fluids you could imagine that we've tried has ever worked and 90 % of them have all caused immediate problems which required rebuild the transmission as the only fix. Sorry for the bad news. Transmission was already on its way out prior to using the repair stuff. Some manufacturers even state not to use them on there vehicles. Causes seals to swell up and or clogs passage ways beyond what is allowed to work properly.
