    Car will start but won't move out of "Park". No lights on dash and cranks with no problem.
    I have pushed it back and forth and turned the steering wheel several times.

      there is a solenoid on the column that allows the shifter to move out of park when the brake pedal is depressed. i would guess that this circuit is related to your issue. either the solenoid is bad or it is not receiving the signal from the pedal.

      You may find a small plastic plug on the shifter console. If you remove that there will be a tab inside that you can press with a small screwdriver to allow the shifter to move out of park.

    The rear of the car is really low tire sometime rub it usually lift itself up can something be done ?

    Car won't move out of Park.
    No engine lights are on on dashboard and cranks fine. I have pushed it back and forth and turned wheel several times.

      Turn key just until dash lights come on, then turn key back just until dash lights go off. Shifter should go into gear. Use neutral and emergency brake to start car.

    Would a worn steering ujoint cause the vehicle steering not to return. What is the name of the replacement part.
    Vehicle wanders. . .necessary to move steering wheel back and forth to keep car on the road. Steering wheel does not return after making turns.

    Why is there a shaking or rattle noise coming from the front suspension or strut area when im in smooth terrain.
    i have 147k in mi.,it does it all the time.at take off or stop and while traveling.The system check tells me everything is ok. air ride etc.

      Your car has bad alignment most likely. Only other thing i can think of is that your steering linkage is going out.

    My lincoln has the air bag suspension, when it get cold out side the front end of the truck drops. Any cures ?
    Seem to me once its cold the sensor freezes and causes the front sensor to read wrong on the height adjustment ..

      Try the many on-line auto parts sources, such as; www.RockAuto.com or www.autopartswarehouse.com for the replacement front shock absorbers. You may also try the 'Find-A-Shop' and 'Estimate Cost' features on the AutoMD website to locate a repair shop to replace the shocks near your location.

    i have a 98 Lincoln Navigator that my back end keeps on lowering, i just replaced the air compressor and it was up for a good 5 months and then i took it back to shop and they said that it was a relay, so i replaced the relay and that lasted for 2 weeks,the shop ...

    When do I need new air bags front and rear other than resting on the tire
    Ride seems a bit rough on my MARK VIII

      The main thing to look for when deciding if you need new air suspension. First youll notice when you park your car the air bags go flat. Second if you hear your air pump come on more often then there may be a leak in your air bags. Third when your driving and the air bags go flat and you feel like your riding in a gocart cuz the suspension is so stiff. The cheepest way to replace your air bags is to simply convert your air suspension system to a spring strut system. If you do a little research on the web you can find many companies that sell these complete conversion kits for the lincoln mark 8. I personaly put in strutmaster and the ride couldnt be any better. In my opinion its a little stiffer ride but that stiffness gives the added confidance one is looking for when driving fast and taking corners. When lincon air bags go bad the first thing to look for is (dry rott) dry rott occures near the lower control arm where the air bag fold in on itself. It is often very hard to see unless you take the airbag out and extend it out so you can look at the corners of the folding end of the air bag. The cracks might be small but dont be fooled as these cracks are the reason your air bags go flat.

      you might want to check the powersteering fluid lvls in your car. often noise is caused by air in the system or dirty fluid. Since it sounds fine when the car is warm if your worried about it let your car warm up befor driving it and this in turn will warm up the fluid probably stopping the noise. If it keeps happeing and your worried I would consider getting your steering fluid flushed and refilled this alone will probably solve the problem.

      I do not understand this question? The switch for the air bags was left on and the car was lifted, and now the car is on the ground and you have no air bags? Chances are if your air bags are fully extended and they dont want to let out air you might have to manualy reset the bag by pulling the valuve on the air bag. this will let the air out so that the sensor will adjust. If this is to hard you can also pull off the ride high sensor and while the car is on adjust it so that the car thinks it needs to let the air out. Chances are if the bags are to full it can pass the usability of the senser and this alone will not alow the air out of the bags. If this is not the issue then i do not understand your question and you should reopost your question more clearly.

    My air suspension all went down
    since they all went down at once I presume it's a sensor but I don't know where to locate the module that controls it - any help would be appreciated

      It is only a matter of time befor the air bags go out on a lincoln. All of your air bags go flat when the car senses the ride hight is uneven. There is a good chance only 1 or 2 of your bags are bad and not the sensors. The bags might not look bad but if you take them off and extend them all the way you are more then likely to find fine cracks in the air bag from (dry rotting). When my air bags where going down every time after i parked it i did alot of research on forums and found this to be the case. If you go to a dealer you can expect to pay nearly $300 per bag to replacer them and thats just the bag. If all your bags are about the same age i would recommend taking out all your air bags and converting it to springs and struts system. there are alot of companies that make these conversion kits at pennies compared to getting all new bags at the dealer. The system i put into my lincoln mark 8 was manufactured by strutmaster. But like i said you probably have dry rott on one of your bags and its more then likely not a sensor. Also you can ride your car with rotted bags for a while but eventualy your air pump will go out and those alone are $200 ea to replace. Now that you have the answer it is time to make a choice. One other thing, if you watch your car long enuff youll be able to see what bag is going low. After watching youll be able to hear all the other bags valves open and let out the air to level out, more then likely your bad bag is in the front as these bags get the most use when driving your car so if you plan on pulling out the bags and extending them to check for hair line cracks thats where i would start. Another way to check if it is a bad bag is when your driving do you hear your air pump come on often? If your car is parked and running after being pumped up you can sit there and listent for the pump to turn on several times withing 30 min. some times it wont do this but listen for the pump if you hear it several times while operating the vehical i can amost promis your its (dry rott) and the bags have holes in them. Location: the dry rot location is often on the edge of the bage closest to the lower control arm. This is where the bag folds the most. I hope this helps and good luck.
