    Alternator issues...
My car hit 100,000 miles last year. I have been up to date on all routine maintenance. My alternator went, so I had it replaced last year along with the battery. Just recently, the alternator started going again - it was under warranty so the auto store replaced it ...

You could go thru 2 or 3 alternators to get a good one

They are not all rebuilt the same

There are many times where the info your given at a repair shop,
dealer or see on the internet will indicate that a new one will possibly
      be the fix
If your getting a quality reman & do the proper testing on install to
confirm you got a good one your good to go

May be other vehicle issues causing the alternators to fail

My car alarm goes on and off at random, the problem is not with the keys, what could it be?
1.around 90 000 miles 2. the alarm starts completeley at random, the check engine is not on and the problem seems to be related to either the alarm sensor or to the ETACS box located right under the driver side fuse box

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance.

This aspect is important; there may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.

Do not skip this important first step - there are literally hundreds of possible fault codes. Avoid wasting/ throwing money at the problem.

Why does my car hesitate when I step on the gas?
Took the car to the dealers for this problem. I was told that the Trottle was clogged. They made the necessary repairs and told me that the problem should be fixed, but it still continues to hesitate when I step on the gas

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this)
      Dirty air filter (change filter)
Dirty / clogged fuel filter (change filter)
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
      Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

      Dirty or worn spark plugs
      Bad plug wires
      Weak ignition coil
      Wet plug wires

My Kia Sorento is just three years old and the mileage is 28499, however, I am having oil and smoking problems.
If I don't put oil in the car at least every two weeks, the oil will run out but there would be no indicator that the oil is low. Also, I am now dealing with heavy exhaust and my dealer told me that this is due to a heavy oil gunk buildup. Should this be happening ...

Why is the engine loosing oil
My 2006 KIA Sedona EX with 149000 miles started loosing a quart of oil every 2500 miles after reaching 144000 miles. Prior to that, it never lost any oil between the 5000 mile oil changes. I have been using 5w20 synthedic blend Motorcraft oil since I purchased the ...

There are only two possibilities; either burning (engine consumption) or leaking. Use some oil-soluable dye and place into the engine oil - to observe where any oil maybe escaping.

There is no trace of any type of leak on the garage floor and the exhaust shows no trace of white, blue or black smoke. Any other possibilities that could cause the loss of engine oil?

Worn valve stem seal will allow oil to penetrate to the combustion chamber and blend it with the fuel during the engine power stroke.

Your information seem reasonable, but burning oil in the combustion chamber would most likely cause exhaust smoke, possibly blue or gray. Would the catalitc converter eliminate this type of smoke? The oil consumption same on suddenely after 145000 miles, and not trace of loss prior to the 145000 miles between the every 5000 mile oil changes.

Quick update . . . a bad grounding wire/strap has been suggested as the issue. I've bee told that can produce low oil/engine pressure (which would explain the oil light). Also, we have had intermittent noise in the stereo that I assumed was a speaker going bad (my son likes it loud) but, in hindsight, may have been our first warning.

Lost all freon when radiator was installed
140000 miles I had a new radiator installed and all the freon is gone. Do I simply replace the freon, or is there more to it than that?

Does it matter how you put the o2 sensors on like 1 is dwn stream n upsyream
an what will happen if there nt on correctly an on the vehical were wld the downstream sensor go

Yes,the position of the O2 sensor matters - each one is calibrated for a specific location within the exhaust system. Upstream means ahead of the catalytic converter, downstream means behind it.

My kia wont start, wont turn over, makes no sound
I replaced the fuel pump, and ignition switch. Is there a relay or computer reset switch that would cause this? I was in a minor accident, Could that have done something? Also something is draining the battery. It has to be charged everytime and it is a good battery.
