Car randomly started shaking/vibrating in the past week?
I just bought a car a few weeks ago and it just recently started shaking, usually when I am on the highway and have to let go of both pedals to slow down. For instance, I'll be going 70mph, and release both pedals to slowly slow down. Once I get around 55-65, the ...

Not sure of the safety aspect - if there is any question, then do not drive the vehicle.

Several possibilities; worn front hub bearing, worn front suspension bushing, worn front suspension component, tire or wheel out of balance, tire or wheel out of round, tire tread separation or defect.

those don't sound too serious; it's probably a repair that will only take one trip hopefully? And I'm just going to keep driving it I guess, try to understand better as to when the vibrations happen exactly, and I do have to work, haha.

I'll say It is not safe to drive your car in such situation.. May be tires can not maintain balance when the speed goes up.. It is a serious problem You should go for car service. many used cars, bikes have the problem you can check here at http://www.classified11.com/

Does not shift into reverse when cold; does not shift gears in drive
Shifts from first to second(?) around 3500 - 4500 rpm. Does not shift again when approaching highway speeds, tach reads 3500 - 4500 rpm when near or at 55 mph. Reverse does not engage when engine transmission cold. Some slippage and odd whining noise when in gear ...

First step - check the transmission fluid level and refill as necessary. The noted slippage and whining sound is not a good indication. How many miles on the transmission? How many miles since the last service; fluid and filter change?

What would cause strange noise in 2wd that stops when shifted into 4wd?
It's a grinding sound, not real loud, but you can definetly hear it. It sounds like it's somewhere between the driver side wheel and the transfer case. It doesn't always make the noise but usually starts after driving between 5-30 miles. As soon as I switch the dial ...

Try a different repair shop - once this one repairs the existing leak for free. The power steering hoses should cost maybe $50.00 each. The transmission oil cooler line is around $40.00 - of course these prices are for the parts alone - not the labor.

Get different estimates - there is no way this work should have cost more than $200.00

Yes, both are same for the 2WD and 4WD; transmission code = 46RE. Same transmission, should interchange no problem.
