Why do all of my lights and gauges stop working every time I turn on a turn signal?
We replaced the wiring harness and ECU last year and just put a new battery in last night. Been having some starting issues for several months now and were told it was because our battery was low.

When did this issue begin? You did not clarify if I am to believe it has existed since the wiring harness and ECU was done. Which wiring harness was replaced. The answer cannot be vague. The wiring that connects what components together?
      12/3/2013 AutoMD Member
The issue began right after we replaced the battery last night. The info I know about the wiring harness that was replaced last year is that it needed replaced because the previous wires had been placed over the exhaust manifold (resulting in melting, grounding, and a shorted out ECU). The new one was put in but with the wires going under instead of over.

Window regulators may vary in design. It will be necessary to obtain a shop manual for
safe removal, installation and handling of window regulators.
IMPORTANT: Some regulator cable spools will unravel if not handled properly. Refer to
Service Manual for proper removal of Motor from cable spool. Cable style regulators
require special handling for successful removal and installation of the window lift motor.
These instructions will help prevent the spool from coming apart and resulting in the
complete replacement of the motor/regulator assembly.
      • Remove the regulator according to the shop manual. Make sure to support the window
      glass in a safe manner.
      • Unbolt or remove the retaining rivets holding the motor to the regulator.
      • CAREFULLY lift the motor up out of the spool since some spools will come out of the
housing with the motor. HINT: use a long thin screwdriver to help separate the motor
      from the spool.
      • Remove the motor.
      • Reverse the procedure to install.
Scissors style regulators have an assist spring to help move the window glass. This spring
is under pressure at all times. The regulator must be secured BEFORE removing the motor.
      • Remove the regulator according to the shop manual. Make sure to support the window
      glass in a safe manner.
      • BEFORE removing the motor from the regulator it will be necessary to secure the sector
gear of the regulator by installing a bolt through the regulator body and the sector gear.
      • Drill out any rivets or remove any bolts retaining the motor to the regulator.
      • Reverse the procedure to install.

Note: not sure if the spring tension has been released yet, hope this helps.

      1. Apply a 12 volts direct to the blower motor connector, if the blower motor doesn't run, replace the blower motor.
      2. In the event the blower motor does run, check the blower motor resistor and the Module Totally Integrated Power, they're both link to the blower motor.

Contact customer service at the site directly where you ordered it from. This is a forum and has no ability to oversee orders placed on the parts site.

If you plan to do this work you should invest in a repair manual for the vehicle. Most auto parts stores sell them for around $20. The manual will have complete instructions with pictures and diagrams. It is well worth the investment for any vehicle or home mechanic. Changing the heater core is very labor intensive and physically demanding. It requires working on the floor of vehicle for long hours. You should consider having it fixed at a garage if you can afford it. Replacing the heater core is the most awful job on any vehicle you will not enjoy it.
