It sounds to me like you are adding coolant to the overflow tank and not the radiator. if this is the case then that is why you have this going on. (there is no "max line" visual on the radiator) and I aso believe you have a coolant leak that still remains undiscovered. Check the cooling pipe that go to the rear heater if it has a rear heater. Those pipes rust out just behind the R/Front tire. And yes, a bad stat is always possible. But my gut feeling says that is not your cause here.

Thanks. i did add coolant to the radiator itself as well. Checked it the next day and was still visible to the top..yet no heat from inside vents. Additionally noticed much longer for engine to warm up ,once it did the aux fan came on. ref leak. I,looked, found fresh leaked coolant around the undercarriage and inside front right engine compartment , cant see exact where its from and while running nothing shows. Monday appt w/shop.

The check engine light doesn't have to be ON to store a fault code.

Check the vehicle for fault codes to see if there are any sensors were involved to the malfunction of the engine.

1.Local auto parts stores such as Autozone ( not in California) or Advance Auto parts will scan and retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes ( dtc ) stored in the powertrain control module for free of charge..

      2. has the code reader for less than $20.00 dollars.

3.Re-post the dtc's in here " answer question " for further assistance.

Note: we need the dtc's to identify the sensor, there are a dozen different sensors to operate the car.

Visit this site and see all the different sensors.

Navigate to this site and see the code reader

Is your plastic fender well touching the tire at all? Your brake caliper might not be bolted on tight and shifting ever so slightly, or the material its made out of is noisier than your used to. Another option could be something (little rock) wedged between the pad and rotor (it happens) and your hearing that rub.

Before we can do much you need to have the check engine light checked . We need to know why it's on . It might tell us everything we need to know .It can be done for free at most parts stores .

Many codes came up! They said the codes meant nothing really and he had never seen this before. My issue is that it never happened until they fixed the catlic converter.

First step - check the engine oil to be sure it's filled to the correct level. Next step, check the engine oil pressure switch and pressure sending unit. Also, check the oil warning light, switch, sensor and wiring / connections.

Prime a starting fluid through the throttle body, if the engine starts, check the fuel system pressure.

      The Fuel System Pressure

50-60 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)Vent the fuel tank vapors by loosening the fuel cap then disconnect the electric fuel pump relay plug, and start the engine . Allow the engine to run until it runs out of fuel and stalls. After spinning the engine over for a period of (3) to(5) seconds, turn off the ignition switch and reconnect the electric fuel pump relay . Install a fuel pressure gauge in the fuel rail test port, and secure the fuel tank cap. With the ignition key in the on position, verify that no leaks are present and utilize the scan tool to energize the fuel pump. This will bring the system to a stabilized fuel pressure that can be visually verified on the gauge.

If the fuel system pressure isn't in the specifications, replace the fuel pump.
