Loss of coolant because of a coolant leak is probably the most common cause of engine overheating. Possible leak points include hoses, the radiator, heater core, water pump, thermostat housing, head gasket, freeze plugs, automatic transmission oil cooler, cylinder head(s) and block.

Some reasons for the overheating condition are: clogged or dirty radiator passages, faulty thermostat, clogged radiator hoses, clogged heater hoses, clogged heater core, radiator cooling fans not working.

Make a careful visual inspection of the entire cooling system, and then pressure test the cooling system and radiator cap. A pressure test will reveal internal leaks such as seepage past the head gasket as well as cracks in the head or block. A good system should hold 12 to 15 psi for 15 minutes or more with no loss in pressure. If it leaks pressure, there is an internal coolant leak (most likely a bad head gasket but possibly also a cracked cylinder or engine block).

It is important to pressure test the radiator cap, too, because a weak cap (or one with too low a pressure rating.
Note: do the radiator test while the engine is cold.

Obtain a loan free radiator pressure tester from the local auto parts stores such as; Advance Auto, Autozone, O'Reilly, PepBoys or other. Follow their instructions and pump it an adequate air pressure 12 -15 psi or the allowances on the radiator cap. Observe the leaks and perform the repair.
Note: do not over pressurize than the pressure rating as listed on the radiator cap.

Here are the directions and location:
      - The fuel filter is mounted under the vehicle, next to the fuel tank. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle safely on jackstands.
      - Remove the retaining screw that mounts the filter to its retaining bracket so you can reach the hose clamps.
      - Then, loosen the clamps (quick-connect fittings on later cars-see the procedures for the fittings in the AutoMD How-To-Guides feature) for both the inlet and outlet lines. Quickly wrap a shop towel around these connections to collect escaping fuel safely. Then, dispose of this towel in such a way as to protect it from heat.
      - Note the routing of the hoses. The high pressure hose from the tank and pump goes to the inlet connection, which is always located toward the outer edge of the filter.
The outlet hose to the engine is labeled on some filters and is always at the center.
-Before removing the fuel filter, note the positions of the two fuel lines.

-Pull the hoses off the connections on the filter.
Replace the filter, draining fuel into a metal container and disposing of it safely.
Inspect the hoses for signs of cracking / pieces missing. Replace the clamps (most new filters will include new clamps in the package) and replace defective parts as necessary.

Reconnect the hoses, using the proper routing noted as you disconnected them. For the older rubber hoses, you may want to very slightly wet the inside diameter of the hoses to make it easier to install them onto the filter connections. Install them as far as possible, until they are well over the bulges at the ends of the connectors. Install the clamps so they are a short distance away from the ends of the hoses but well over the bulged areas at the ends of the filter connections. Tighten both clamps securely. If you have an inch lb. torque wrench, tighten them to 10 inch lbs. (1 Nm).
Connect the quick-connect hoses, if so equipped.
Remount the filter on the bracket and tighten the bolt to 6 ft. lbs. (8 Nm). Start the engine and check for leaks, tightening the hose clamps, replacing parts, or installing the hoses farther onto the connectors (older hose types), if necessary. Allow the engine a little while to start, since the fuel system must be pressurized.

In addition to local parts sources, check the many on-line auto parts sources, such as;,, or - to list only a few. For example, most on-line sources list the fuel filter from around $5.00 for your vehicle (Fram part G9279 / Motorcraft part FG1098 / Mann MF 1049 / Pentius PFB44705 as parts applications).

      Loose battery connection?
      9/29/2013 CVO
First, check the battery and starter cables for their tightness or free of corrosion and physical damaged.
Note: a 3/4 charge battery is 12.50 volts
A discharge battery is 11.75 volts.
A battery under a cranking load and it is reading less than 7 volts,it will be a recycled battery.
Lights flickering could be caused by a bad alternator.

Well, you have to inspect them every 7.5K miles, inspect because depending on how you use your car, some suspension components can last for several thousands of miles.

How long do they last? Once again depending on how you use your car, now to give you an idea on their lifespan, let's use my car as an example (A 93 Honda Civic), i treat her better than my girlfirend and my self so my bushings and ball joints last for more than 30k miles. I think it's even more because i can't remember the last time i replaced them.

There is no recommend interval for replacement. You replace them when they show signs of wear. cracking peeling looseness or fluid contamination. Your specific vehicle has common problems with the rear vertical bushing tearing out because of its design flaw. This type of bushing requires replacement more often than other vehicles. They should be inspected every oil change for wear. Every time you install new tires you should have the suspension checked and realigned.

It is recommended to be changed at the 100,000 mile mark but I would suggest that you go ahead and do it now since the weather is gonna change in the next few months.Make sure you replace the idler and tensioner pulleys,as well as the water pump.If you dont change the parts listed now alongside the timing belt, you or the shop doin the job will be pullin it back apart to replace items I listed because of failure.

Why is my ac stop cooling and the car vibrate whenever I stop at a red light?
whenever the car stand still the ac stop cooling and the whole car vibrates every 30 sec. But when the car start moving again everything is back to normal.

Check the radiator ac cooling fan to see if the fan is on. When the car starts moving again everything is back to normal due to the ram air cools and removes the heat from the condenser.
Check the condenser for any plugged debris.

Would low coolant and oil make an engine run loudly?
My car is very, very low on coolant and oil. Would this make it run and idle very loudly? It's even louder when I accelerate.

Yes, major engine damage may occur if the engine is operated low on either oil or coolant. Stop and check the fluid levels - refill as required. Consult the vehicle owners manual for further assistance and information.

I would say that the most likely cause here is a bad illumination control module. Also known as a "headlamp switch". Unfortunately, this part costs almost $500 and also is a fuse box. Takes about an hour to replace if everything goes smooth, maybe longer if something beats you up. The part # is 5098638AA and is only available new from the dealer parts dept. Probability here is greater than 99%.

Any tire shop will check pressure & inspect the tires. You can also buy a tire pressure gauge and check it yourself. The recommended tire pressure is in your owner's manual and on the door jamb.
