take door panel off find motor plug unplug motor use jumper cables pos on one side neg on other it will go up or down switch wires it will go other way if motor is good that will tell you it window switch or wiring problems
    • Nissan Technical Advisor
Is all your windows doesn't work or it's just one window? If only one, it's more likely a fuse or wiring connection, loose wire or there's a high resistance in the wiring. Motor and cable problem can also be the cause but must trace first if the wiring is ok. A continuity test should be done to determine if wiring is ok or there's a resistance in it. The window switch should be checked also if faulty.

I have no heat or defroster on driver side of vehicle. The blower works just fine
Before the cold weather set in, when I would use the ac there was a noise like the door (?) was trying to open (clicking) Thank you Pam

Blend door concern, its stuck, you have to remove a part of your dashboard to locate it, its a black rectangular piece of plastic that swivels to let either cold/hot air out. on most cars, their is a panel under the passenger side of the dash and glove box. Just a couple of screws in the front side of it to take it off. You will see a door that lets your heat come through and right up above it is the actuator. It has a plug running to it, so follow your wires and they will lead you to it.

We have replaced the water pump, the thermostat, the radiator, and the timing belt. IT is still overheating?
The fans are hard wired to stay on all the time. It has 86000 miles, it ran for over an hour and stayed in the low temps, then when sitting at idle it over heated.

Probably cylinder head gasket is damaged. Did you noticed what color the smoke coming out from the exhaust pipe, and the condition of engine oil if it has foam bubbles in it? Worst the cylinder block is cracked but check first the above suggestions.
      Nissan Technical Advisor
      1/4/2011 tricia sanders
the smoke that comes out the exhaust is the normal color, and barely any, and there is no foam bubbles, and the mechanic that replaced everything said he doesnt think it is the cylinder block, i got the car back from him a week ago and have driven it like a car that has no problems, and then tonight i drove it to a business, it ran for 25 mins while i was in there and my husband stayed in the car, then ran another errand, then went to hardees and waited for them and thats when it over heated.
      Nissan Technical Advisor
      1/4/2011 tricia sanders
thats when it overheated, so i am at a loss. I really cant afford to take it backt o my mechanic, what they did already cost me 750.
      Nissan Technical Advisor
With details given above my suggestion is to buy a radiator pressure tester and test the pressure of the radiator, instructions is given by the link.
If pressure is ok, the nearest possibility is cylinder head gasket is damaged.

How do i change the cabin air fliter
    • Nissan Technical Advisor
Check the a/c air filter cabin in your engine compartment, passenger side of the engine bay against the firewall to find the air inlet box. Press the tabs to slide the cover forward and access the filter. Lift the old filter from the air inlet box and discard it. Insert the new filter with the arrows pointing toward the rear of the vehicle. Press the tabs and pull the cover back to finish.

Note: Chrysler recommends replacing this filter every 15,000 miles to keep the interior air quality high.

What happens when the wrong oil filter has been put in?
The wrong oil filter was put in the car. shortly after, the car started making a rattling noise. Car was taken to a mechanic and he noticed pieces of metal were coming out into the oil. The car had been driven in cold weather for about a month with the wrong oil ...
    • Nissan Technical Advisor
I don't believed its ruined due to wrong oil filter. Perhaps the brand or the part number is different from the original filter but if the oil seal/ring is the same size and fitted well there's no problem with it. The problem with your engine is that you did not noticed that the engine ran out of oil maybe due to oil leak from gasket or from the filter itself or it took many months before you changed your engine oil. Low engine fluid damaged the engine parts because of poor lubrication and resulted for parts being chipped and damaged. An engine overhaul and replacement of engine parts will solve the problem or consider buying a new engine.

    Gas guage does not work
gas guage was working new fuel pump was installed. gas guage does not register amount of gas in tank. If you fill tank gas will overflow and come out
    • Bobby
      12/20/2010 Bobby
if you had the pump replaced then something could have happened to the gauge then or something might be wrong with the circuit. the sensor for the gauge is part of the fuel sending unit, that the fuel pump is attached to. Did you notice this happenign right after the reapir and who did the fuel pump work?

next don't overflow the tank you are filling it too much cause you probably think there is less fuel in then there is. what is the gauge showing you all the tiume is it always on full or on empty?

and last this could be a problem with the evap system. if your vehicle is not filling with gas then it may not be venting properly. the vap system vetilates the gas tank this needs to happen like filling up a watter bottle the air needs to come out as you fill it with water. the evap system allows the air out while you fill the tank if the evap system is clogged then the air can't get out and the result is usually gas bubbling out while you try to fill the tank.

Probably the blend door is not moving and has maybe lost it's calibration. Do this >>

      1. In the inside fuse box, locate the center fuse that sticks out further than the others.

      2. Pull the fuse for 10 seconds and then reinstall.

      3. Start the vehicle and wait for another 10 seconds.

      4. The actuators should automatically run a self calibration.

i changed the batteries in the keyless remote. also the doors will not lock/unlock from the keyless remote

Possibility is that the fuse is loose or the security lock system module is not responding. Have it checked by the dealer.
