if idle issue, check that the throttle closes. Clean the throttle-body and anything that has to do with idle air system. Off idle, shouldn't have anything to do with idle air. I'm just covering the basics. With foot off the throttle, throttle valve closes and that is idle air. It's not cruise control, correct?

Check for applicable trouble codes, your obd1 so you should be able to check codes, yourself, if the mil lamp works. To check codes, you use jumper wire between A & B terminals at the datalink connector, turn key just till the dash lites come on, no further, then the mil on the dash starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes.

After I shift into any gear and my foot is completely lifted from the clutch pedal it bucks 2 to 3 times. It feels like when you shift and release the clutch pedal too quickly which I'm not doing. Right when I start the car it squeals and I notice the same noise ...

Why does my car occasionally not go in reverse?
I recently purchase this vehicle from the dealer and it has 120,000 miles on it. I'm now noticing that when I put it in reverse, nothing happens, the car will not move. Any ideas?

If you replace the fluid with that kind of mileage it may start to slip

      Your call

I would not replace all of it at one time

When you get a transmission (more so for automatic than manual) with 150,000 miles put on the SAME fluid, you are virtually assured to have excessive wear, build-up and deposits in your transmission, which the detergent additives blended with new transmission fluid will loosen and break down, substantially increasing the risk of transmission failure (usually seal failure).

Its not a "sure thing". In your case, it may result in nothing adverse, and you might drive another 50,000 miles before something goes wrong. You cannot say "at xx miles, this will occur, so your transmission WILL fail if you change the fluid and filter". But, the principle is sound, and the risk of failure is definitely increased.
However, not changing the fluid and filter at all is a virtual guarantee of future transmission trouble.

However, there are two schools of thought here: 1) routine maintenance is good, or 2) if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The thought of keeping the fluid as-is for extended periods of time is not an uncommon sentiment. The theory is that the fluid will contain deposits that can build up in the passages throughout the valve body. These deposits are akin to carbon buildup in the upper intake plenum. The transmission "gets used" to having these buildups, which are normal. If you change the old fluid, the new fluid will flush away those deposits, and the likelihood of changing the transmission shifting and wear patterns is high.

Sounds like trans is slipping bad. Check fluid level and condition. More than likely its fluid is burnt which will require rebuild. Make sure fluid level is with in range. Check with engine running in park.

Have you had fuel pump or fuel injectors serviced lately? These are common causes others would say its your engine mount or transmission, but before you run to the mechanic saying "transmission or engine mount or fluids", think about whether or not if you ever had your fuel pump or fuel injectors replaced or serviced...just a thought..
