I went ahead and replaced it today and it was not that bad. I pulled the car up on ramps. I removed the water resovoir to make it easier to get to the flange and nut that was holding the hose on the side of the motor. after that I unclipped the clip that was holding the hose underneath. I pulled the hose through the bottom with someone helping guide it from the top. After the old hose was removed I had someone guide the hose from the top while I pulled from the bottom went on with ease.

Why is there intermittent loss of power steering when the engin is running beow 1200 rpm
There is an intermittent loss of power steering when the rpm's slow to approximatley 1000rpm or below. The boost cuts out completely and quickly returns when the engine is reved to over a 1000 or so. This can be either in gear or in neutral. The car can go a couple ...

When turning your steering wheel you should be able to get 1600-2000psi out of your PS pump. You can check for pressure reading to verify but am almost certain the pump is your problem.
The belt MUST have the correct tension in it for it to work properly. In virtually all modern cars, belt tension is set with a spring loaded pulley that should always maintain the correct tension. You should check out the belt tensioner too. If all these check out properly, then the power steering pump is the next most likely culprit. Finally, the power steering rack - the thing that couples the hydraulic pressure from the power-steering pump into the steering mechanism - may need replacement or rebuilding.

If it was not there before the job was done then you have to review your installation and look for something that is loose or installed improperly.

Take key out of ignition and wait for 10 minutes. try again inserting the key carefully. Also, try disconnecting the negative terminal on battery if that doesn't work. leave it disconnected for 30 minutes. Try another key. I base this on computer chip key technology. Sometimes the key chips go bad, but that's rare. A false read that set off the anti-theft occurred only once on my friends computer chip key. That was in 100's of thousand miles. Otherwise call a local caddy dealership or buick, or pontiac. They all work off the key chip or can tell you what to do.

The key in my 2000 Escalade won't turn.
When inserted into the ignition the interior lights come on and the dinging comes on with the door open but the key will not turn in the ignition. The steering wheel is locked and I tried jiggling it both ways but still no luck. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your steering wheel lock needs adjustment or broken. You have to adjust or repair your steering wheel lock.
