I suspect that there is either a problem with the factory alarm system or an added aftermarket alarm system. They are often wired to flash the exterior lamps when armed. Try temporarily removing the theft deterrent relay if this Cadillac has the factory alarm. The relay is located near the top of the parking brake lever and to the right. The relay has 6 wires. Not sure of disconnecting this will prevent the car from starting.

Your cabin air filter housing is on the firewall area at the rear of the passenger side engine compartment. You will see a plastic filter housing, pry it up with your fingers. Then you will see the filter element, you need to push the lever outward and pull the filter element from the housing. Release the lever and discard the element.

you might have to replace the headlight assembly. usually the adjustment is all part of the assembly. Try removing the headlight assembly and seeing if it is damaged most likely the adjusting screw stripped.

Rear window fell half way down in door
My driver side rear window fell half way down in the car door. Can I fix this myself?
    • Autobahn
      11/25/2010 Autobahn
Ah yes, you may, you have to remove the interior door panel, If you're willing to spend $15-20 on the Haynes/Chilton repair manual for your car, you could figure out how to pull the interior panels off the door (but they are really easy, most have plastic clips around it some have screws around it including the one on the interior door handle, get at the mechanism inside, and find a way to jam it shut from in there (which I suspect is what you want). Window lifters are pretty simple mechanisms. Heck, depending on what's wrong, you might even figure out how to fix it. But replacing the window regulator is a lot better.

Remove the tai light panel screws and the panel (located above it, po your trunk)
Disconne4ct the twist lock socket from the lens housing.

To remove the bulb, turn the twist lock socket (at the rear of the housing) counterclockwise 1/4 turn then remove t he socket with the bulb. replace the bulb if defective.

How do i replace the headlight bulbs on the drivers side.
      11/4/2010 MOONSTER_TOOLZ
You will need to remove the screws of the front fender so you can able to pull it back far enough to reach and insert your hand in. By this way, you should be able to see the bulb casing and turn it to the small notches and pull out; install the new bulb in reverse order.

How do u take off a 94 sls cadillac starter? where is the starter at?
    • yboy82
      10/28/2010 yboy82
You have to remove your intake manifold to see your starter.
    • yboy82

•Disconnect your battery cables (negative cable first before the positive cable). Change the position of your front bank spark plug wires. Remove the air intake duct from your throttle body.

•Disconnect the electrical connectors for the intake manifold, Throttle Position (TP) sensor, and Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor, Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Control solenoid and Cruise Control Servo. Detach your vacuum hoses at the brake vacuum booster, fuel pipe bundle and to the body. You have to disconnect the PCV hoses at the intake manifold.

•Detach the accelerator cable at your throttle body and position it out of the way. And then relieve the fuel system pressure, detach the fuel pipe quick connects at the fuel pipe bundle in your engine compartment. Remove the EVAP solenoid bracket at the rear (or right) cam cover. Change the position of your transaxle range control cable away from the cruise control servo. You should disconnect the coolant hoses at the throttle body and to the coolant reservoir and plug the hoses. To avoid spillage wrap a shop towel around the hoses when disconnecting.

•Remove the four intake manifold bolts and raise the intake manifold with the throttle body out of your engine compartment. And then unbolt the solenoid 'S' terminal nut and battery cable nut. After that you can now remove the starter motor mounting bolts, and lift the starter motor out of the manifold cavity.

Before you install your starter motor to your engine, you must tighten the inner nuts on the solenoid terminals to be certain that they are secure in the cap. The specified torque in tightening your inner nuts on your battery terminal and starter motor terminal should be 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.) Your new starter may fail sooner if these nuts are not properly tightened due to the terminal or cap damage.

•Now install your solenoid switch lead, and tighten the nut to 22 inch lbs. (2.5 Nm). After that install the battery cable nut and tighten to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm). Install the starter motor and tighten the mounting bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).

•Install the intake manifold with the throttle body onto the engine and install the four bolts. The four intake manifold bolts must be tightened in a specific sequence to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm), then an additional 120°. After that you have to attach the coolant hoses at the throttle body and at the coolant reservoir (add coolant as needed). Position the transaxle range control cable to the cruise control bracket. Fasten the EVAP solenoid bracket to the rear cam cover.

•Attach your fuel pipes quick connects at the fuel pipe bundle in the engine compartment. Install your accelerator cable up at the throttle body. Install the vacuum hoses at the brake vacuum booster, fuel pipe bundle and to the body. And then install the PCV hose at your intake manifold. Connect the electrical connectors for the intake manifold, the TP sensor ISC motor, EVAP solenoid and the cruise control servo. And then you should install the air intake duct to the throttle body. Put back the front bank spark plug wires to its original position. Lastly connect the disconnected battery cables.
