I do hope you checked all the fluids before you tried to crank it? Did you use a little oil in each cylinder before you tired to crank it? Not too much oil, you don't want hydrostatic lock? Check oil pressure. Give it an overall tune-up. Check fuel pressure? Have you changed the fuel filter, lately? If you change fuel filter, make sure no pressure on the system before taking any lines loose.

Usually if a vehicle sits that long you need to check for varmint nests, they do like to chew on wiring. Did you visually check for spark at all the spark plugs?

      I'd check for codes anyway.

No u dont have to pull the motor but it does take patience and time. Alot of sesors and other parts have to come off to change them. The cams and lifters is the parts that u have to be extra careful with. Also the water pumps on the drivers side instead of the pass side. It to has to be removed. Pictures before and during may help out alot. Good luck and about the other question im not for sure.

The most common cause of overheating is because of an external leak from a water pump or a radiator or heater hose. The way to find the leak is to wait till it is overnight cold and maybe just pour water in and see if the leak is large enough to see it simply leak out from where it has a leak. if you pour in a half gallon or more and you still see no leak its time to pressure check the system.

      Here is a short list of possible causes for overheating;

      Low coolant level
      Leaking coolant
Improper coolant concentration (not at recommended 50 / 50 mix of anti-freeze and water)
      Clogged radiator hoses
      Clogged heater hoses
      Clogged radiator passages
      Clogged heater core
      Faulty thermostat
      Faulty water pump
      Faulty radiator cooling fans
Faulty radiator cooling fan switch (coolant temperature sensor)
Faulty / worn serpentine drive belt
Faulty / worn drive belt tensioner

Is there any light on on your dash??? If so check out this page.. this happened to me with my regal and after a lot of research I came across this module and it worked.. it has to do with the security in the car... this piece will help to bypass it and it will start every time
The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

Why is my engine running rough?
pulled coil wire from cylinders #3 and #5 got no fire, does this indicate a fouled plug or bad coil?

What about the spark plug wire? Do you have fire on cylinders 2 and 8? According to my info, cylinders 2 and 5 are paired together. Cylinders 3/8 are paired.

Swap the coils around, see if problem follows the coil?

Engine hesitates while driving at times/engine light is on. Have been told of coil problems.
55,777 miles. and had vehicle looked at by local mechanic which stated that I needed to replace three coils and possibly spark plugs. Can you help please.

First step - have the stored fault codes or check engine light scanned - for free - at any local auto parts store; Advance Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA. Then, post a reply as 'add answer' with the specific code for more assistance. There may be a fault code stored in the OBD memory which may not be displayed as a check engine light.

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this)
      Dirty air filter (change filter)
Dirty / clogged fuel filter (change filter)
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
      Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

      Dirty or worn spark plugs
      Bad plug wires
      Weak ignition coil
      Wet plug wires

There is no low freon sensor or warning light. If it was R12, you should have it retrofitted to R134a by a shop...
