1991 Honda Accord LX 4 Cyl 2.20L

Do I need to replace the distributor?

Ok, I had some sparks jumping around on the distributor so I replaced the cap and rotor and it is now squeaking do I need to replace the whole distributor? and Is it hard to time the car I have never done that

The bearings in the dist. housing are shot. They can technically be replaced if you take the dist to a machine shop.

Easiest way is to just get a new distributor

Contact Honda and see if there is still an active recall for your '91 Accord on the distributor. they may do it for free.

also if you go to advance auto parts-and pick up a Haynes book for $25.00 it will show you everything you need to know with pictures on how to replace the distributor...............good luck

the easy way is to MARK THE ORIGINAL POSITION of the distrib B4 removing it. note the position of the roter inside the cap. be sure to mark the outside base of the dist. then you dont have to go thru ligning up the #1 cyl to the timing marks on the crank and block on the combustion stroke......................................jl
