radiator return hose broken off, easiest repair?

Hi, I hope this makes sense, not sure of the correct terms for things! The small outlet from the top of the radiator to the expansion tank on my galant has snapped off, the car is running fine and not overheating at all (so far) but is using a bit of water. I can't afford to have it professionally repaired, so was wondering if I can just cap it off? this is the first car I've had with an expansion tank, so thinking it might be possible to not use the expansion tank?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks :-)

You could try to epoxy it back on there. I doubt it would work. You can cap it but the would cause the system to overpressure and blow the head gasket and various hoses and water pump seals. Right now it is spitting the over pressure out on the road. Then when the car cools it sucks air into the radiator with every drive cycle. You need a new radiator. Plain and simple.
