2002 Honda CR-V EX 4 Cyl 2.40L

My key won't turn ignition all the way, can I take out the lock cylinder and remove the wafers and still have it work

My ignition has been acting funny for a while, it's taking some finessing to get it to turn over and now it finally stopped. I can turn the key to where it will turn the accessory on but that's as far as it will go I've tried a lot of tricks to no avail. I was wondering if I cld pull the wafers from the cylinder lock and be able to start the car still.

Simply replace the ignition lock cylinder as an assembly - with a new one. Not an inexpensive part however.

The aftermarket ignition lock cylinder is priced around $640.00(!)

Try these various on-line parts resources; www.autopartswarehouse.com; www.partsgeek.com; www.rockauto.com - to list only a few.
