2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS 4 Cyl 2.40L

I'm still getting code for my crankshaft position sensor after replacing it. Why won't my car start? Any suggestions?plz

Hello. My name is Brianna...I have a 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder GS.....Recently my engine light came on then my car started having trouble starting up. I got my codes read and it came back as the crankshaft position sensor. When I took the part off it was defiantly old and cracked so I replaced my sensor but my car still wouldn't start. I realized my battery was old and not holding a charge anymore so I bought a new batter and now my lights, locks, windows and so on work but my car still won't start. It cranks just fine but just isn't catching...So I read my codes again after replacing battery and sensor...I'm still getting a code for my crankshaft position sensor.. I did test the ("female")side of the crankshaft sensor, with a multimeter. It seemed to be reading fine. I'm not sure on how to test the part I replaced (crankshaft position sensor ("male side") •Bad part? How do I test sensor? Or Is it possible I put the side of sensor that hooks on to the bottom of my engine on wrong
