how to replace a freeze plug in a cylinder head why it is in on the engine block in the vehicle?
freeze plugs are on the block to prevent any water from expanding and cracking the block. instead of costing you a motor block you just replace a freeze plug all they are is a sacrificial safety precaution. to replace them you need to remove the old one by dropping the oil pan and praying it made its way past the crank then using a brass hammer tap a new one into the open hole in your block
