2002 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 Z71 8 Cyl 5.3L

Transmissions & Drivetrains

How much should it cost to replace a rear end with a used one on 02 avalanche 1500 4WD

I'm thinking $1900.00 is a bit much to replace the rear end on my avalanche, when it cost less than 700 to replace gears inside. what do you think?

well price of the part is the price, you can try shopping around other salvage yards. But the labor is high then 86 hr at 3.5 hours is 301 for labor install he wants to get 800 to install it!??? ask him how many hours it takes to replace then after he tells you that ask what he uses for a labor guide?

I just sent a reply but it didnt work, i'll try again.. They said 5 hrs but thats only 430.00 + 1,000.00 +50.00 so 1,480.00 plus RE oil. there was nothing extra thay did. I know things have changed since i worked on cars, 30 yrs sure make a difference. Thanks Bobby have a great day.
