what is the gear size of a the ring and pinion

driving the other day and I herd what sounded like a belt going bad in my rear axle the I herd a pop and now my 2wd doesn't work and I don't know the gear size to replace the ring and pinion.

Easiest way for you to identify the gear ratio is to go to a jeep dealer parts dept with the VIN and ask them to look it up on their computer which can access the build sheet for your Jeep, otherwise you can remove the differential cover and read the ratio stamped on the side of the ring gear or if you can't see it you count the teeth oin the ring and on the pinion and divide.
