What is the round electrical connector behind the passenger headlight?

I was replacing the alternator on my 2000 V70, and in the process of removing the existing alternator, I broke a circular electrical connection tucked down between the alternator and the headlight. Does anyone know what that electric controls? It appears to only be on the passenger side.
