1994 Honda Civic LX 4 Cyl 1.50L

Engine

my daughters civic will start one day but not the next...

this morning it would turn over strong but would not start.... after 20 mins and many tries it finally cranked and got her home for me to see. Now that she is home and it's in my garage, it will start every try. The last time this happened, i came and it started fine for me.... but wouldn't for her earlier. it seems to come and go, i do hear the fule pump coming on for about 2 seconds everytime. What could it be?

I would get the ECU fault codes pulled even if check engine light not on computer will have stored failure codes. Diagnosing without this information will be a crap shoot at best with an intermittent problem.

it could be the starter i had this problem with my honda accord every once in a while the car would not start and sometimes it would luckly i had a standard i just poped the clutch, so i took out the starter had it tested it tested good long story short i had a bad starter autozone, advance auto, etc they only test to see if battiers, starters, etc are only GOOD OR BAD mine was on its way out thats why it would start whenever it wanted to. so after replacing it i havent had a problem since hope this helps

Dominic, if I am reading correctly he states starter is cranking engine, but sometimes it doesn't start. So changing starter probably won't cure the problem, agreed?

You need to buy some carb cleaner and spray it in ur intake. I had the same problem with my 87 honda accord
