Cost of repair for blown head gaskets

My car overheated and the head gaskets are blown. Can anyone tell me how much it's going to cost for parts and labor to put new head gaskets? It's a 2000 Chevy Impala

No one can tell you the cost of any vehicle repair.

When you ask how much does it cost, how do you know what needs to be done?

There is no set price for vehicle repairs, parts cost vary with brand & sourcing,
labor rate is different for every business.

Your question has been asked for 70 years and I don't know why.

You don't ask what a Doctor or Lawyer charge or even look at prices of most
items you want, this only seems to come up with motor vehicles.

You know very well you need to be part of the solution & go to several shops to
have the vehicle properly diagnosed to find a problem.

The vehicle may have to come apart before any estimate of cost could be given

What your asking for is a Ball Park Figure on Cost

As a former shop owner & can't tell you how many times I was asked for a ball park.
the most it could be & on & on repeatedly for a half hour, you just want those folks to leave
the property.

So please don't do that,go to 3 shops & ask questions, watch some You Tube Video
of the job that needs to be done & before you commit to repairs see the test results, not
verbally in the office or out in the parking lot,you need to be in the service bay & ask for
an education, maybe I had they only shop where customers where allowed & taken everywhere
& shown things.

That job is almost all labor unless you start replacing all hoses, belts, filters, water pump
& on & on,it depends on the condition of the various items.

Why did it overheat, head gasket alone or you get a new head gasket & nothing changes.

If you had sealer put in the coolant system because of the head gasket then your in for
some trouble.
