2005 Ford Freestar Limited 6 Cyl 4.2L

Engine

code PO 193 high rail fuel sensor code. Is this a fuel pump problem or maybe a fuel filter?

The only physical symptom is a quick miss in engine power at normal road speeds. Only happens once in a 30 mile trip.

I have the same vehicle and same engine... same problem. I did some checking around and some thought it was the injection sensor (fuel rail sensor). I have not tried to fix it yet. Have you resolved your problem?

It is actually the fuel pressure regulator problem, it is located on the fuel rail with a vacume hose on it. Good luck.

The number one cause of this code (P0193) on FreeStar is a bad Fuel Rail Pressure/Temperature (FRPT) Sensor. There is no other cause.

Thanks! Is it possible to replace the sensor myself? Does the pressure need to be released before replacing it?
