2005 Chevrolet Tahoe LS 8 Cyl 5.3L

Check engine light is on..as per auto zone folks is P0140..oxygen sensor bank 2.

I replace the sensor twice but light is still on with the same code. i disconnec the battery for 12 hrs hoping it will reset the code but no luck. i went to mechnic shop and he used the new device and showed me the code it says pending state , as per them it is trying to reset the code and it is in pending state and he think there is nothing wrong with it , he suggested to use Supereme gas and drive on the highway for 30 to 40 miles and it should reset, but no luck either? any idea or suggestions?

P0140 means O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2). P0140 means that the PCM detects a constant voltage signal longer than specified or remains inactive. Bank 1 is connected to cylinder 1 and sensor 2 is located after the catalytic converter.

Possible Causes:

Open or short in the O2 sensor heated circuit
Shorted O2 sensor signal in the reference circuit
Contaminated or broken O2 sensor electrical connector
Defective PCM

Possible solutions:

Clean or replace O2 sensor connector or wiring circuit
Replace heated O2 sensor
Replace PCM

Did you already check the condition of the connector/wiring in your O2 sensor?
