2009 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 8 Cyl 5.70L

Preventive Maintenance

do you have to change spark plugs every 30,000 miles to keep lifetime warranty

I have reserched the crap out of this and it will probably basically come down to how bad the dealer shop tries to cheat me in the future but every 30,000 miles seems ridicualous when you can buy spark plugs that last 100,000 miles

Not sure what you are asking in regards to a lifetime warranty. Spark plugs are a maintenance item. Are the plugs suppose to be inspected at 30K or does the owner's manual say replace?

Mr RC. A few years ago, Dodge offered a lifetime warranty on their powertrain vehicles, in order to boot their sales.

The lifetime warranty exists on the powertrain; engine and transmission - independent of the maintenance cycle and upkeep. The spark plugs generally wear out in advance of the claimed 100,000 interval - and it's also a good idea to change simply due to the corrosion build-up and difficulty to remove after this many miles in-place.
