2005 Buick LeSabre Limited 6 Cyl 3.80L

Brakes

What is causing this noise?

Hello. I just recently bought a used 2005 Buick LeSabre Limited. I noticed that the brake warning light is on. And whenever I brake, my car makes a low hollow humming noise. Almost a pulsing hollow sound. It makes this sound when I brake and continues to make it for a few seconds when I release the brakes and start driving again. Any idea what might be causing this noise?

First question - have you checked the master cylinder brake fluid level, and refilled as necessary? If not, then start with this step.
Next question - how many miles are on the vehicle? How many miles since the last brake pad replacement?

My suggestion would be to raise and support the front and rear wheels off the ground - use jack stands for safety sake.

Remove all the wheels for a thorough brake inspection.

Try these on-line parts resources; www.autopartsanything.com; www.partsgeek.com; www.Rockauto.com - to list only a few.

In fact, they (RockAuto) list the replacement front and rear brake kit (new brake pads and new rotors) from around $134.00 complete for your vehicle.
