1994 Buick Century Custom 6 Cyl 3.10L

why does my car have no power when I accelarate?I step on the gas and it slowly pick-up speed.

The car has 100,000 miles ,it was stolen and i found it the battery was dead. Now it runs sluggish, engine misfiring so i change the air filter, that smooth the engine. But there no power. No check engine light on. Getting low gas mileage something like 10 mi a gallon. HELP! I need power. Thank You

Changing the air filter will not correct a misfire. Have you replaced any other parts? Has the engine been tuned up?

Possible Causes of Engine Hesitation or Stumble:

Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
