Car is overheating
Temp is going up to redline, you can hear fluid bubbling. Then it will drop down to normal range for a few seconds. Then spike again. The windshield is fogging up and there is a smell of antifreeze. Three is antifreeze leaking or being pushed out by pressure under the car, behind the front passenger side tire. I was thinking either heater core or thermostat. But what I don't understand, what has me baffled, is the girl who owns the car said this started happening right after she hit a curb. she hit a curb & bottomed out right where the leak (behind front tire) is, & all the antifreeze spilled out. We put new antifreeze in, and now its overheating. but if the problem has something to do with hitting that curb, then it can't be the heater core or thermostat. Any suggestions?
A low coolant level, a coolant leak (through internal or external leaks) are the overheating symptoms.
